About Gilgandra Local Aboriginal Medical Service (GLAMS)

Gilgandra Local Aboriginal Medical Service officially opened 22nd May 2022 as an extension of services of Coonamble Aboriginal Health Service.

Gilgandra Local Aboriginal Medical Service provide a culturally appropriate health and wellbeing service for our community to help address the general health and identified Aboriginal Health issues.

Artwork and the Artist

All of business artwork across Coonamble, Tubbagah (Dubbo) and Gilgandra. The artwork will be seen on Staff uniforms, letter heads, advertisements, policies, and procedure documents and all branding associated with CTG Aboriginal Health.

Artist – Kirbie Ewers

Kirbie is a proud Gamilaraay/Wailwan woman who has over recent years dedicated her spare time to Aboriginal Art. Her inspiration comes from family and keeping her connection with culture.

Kirbie’s artwork is used across our business, and she has an approach of feelings and experiences, telling stories of relevance.

Her artwork highlights tribal totems, and she likes to use earthy tones that remind her of home. Kirbie prefers dot painting as she feels is offers relevance to

Artist – Lewis Burns. Lewis Burns is a Tubba-Gah Wiradjuri man born and living in Dubbo, NSW. Lewis is also a Traditional Owner of the Tubba-gah Nation.

Monique is a Wiradjuri Woman from Gilgandra who enjoys creating art in her spare time.

Monique’s artwork adds a special touch to GLAMS to honour her grandmother, Aunty Pat Naden, and her amazing legacy. Aunty Pat was employed as an Aboriginal Health Education Officer with NSW Health for over 19 years, she was a local Elder and trailblazer who worked tirelessly for her community to better the health and well-being for her people with hope of someday having an AMS in Gilgandra.
